The Bedingfeld Park Board of Management is made up of dedicated volunteers drawn from the local community who generously contribute their time, knowledge, and leadership. With a diverse range of professional backgrounds spanning aged care, health and the public sector, the Board brings valuable expertise and insight to its governance role. United by a strong commitment to excellence, the members work to ensure Bedingfeld Park remains a modern, well-managed facility that delivers high standards of clinical and personal care. They are also deeply focused on fostering a welcoming environment that promotes dignity, wellbeing, and a strong sense of community for all residents.
Mervyn Williams
Merv has served as a member of the Board of Management since 2021 and is the Chairperson of the Board and Finance Committee. A qualified Chartered Accountant, Merv built an extensive career in finance, working with Commonwealth Industrial Gases Ltd and holding several Finance Manager positions in New South Wales before returning to WA. He later served as Chief Financial Officer at Rocky Bay Ltd prior to his retirement. Merv has a long history of community service, including roles as President of the Pinjarra Rotary Club, Board Member of the Bendigo Bank franchise in Pinjarra, and Treasurer of the Anglican Parish of Pinjarra–Waroona.
Geoff Hayward
Geoff has served on the Board of Management since 2003 and is a Life Member of Bedingfeld Park. Prior to his retirement, Geoff spent 35 years with Alcoa, including 20 years as an Operations Manager, four years as a Director and Trustee of the Alcoa Retirement Fund, and four years as an Executive Director of Alcoa Australia. His extensive leadership experience, strategic insight, and strong governance expertise continue to make a valuable contribution to the Board, helping drive informed decision-making and long-term success.
Sue Gillett
Sue has been a member of the Board of Management since 2004. A long-term resident and active member of the local community, Sue is the Director of a successful family farming business. As a member of the Finance Committee, she brings extensive business expertise, practical experience, and strong financial insight to the Board. Sue is passionate about supporting Bedingfeld Park and is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for both the organisation and the wider community.
Jan Hall
Jan has been a member of the Board of Management since 2022. With an extensive career spanning the Public Health Service, Silver Chain and Rural Health sectors, Jan has held a range of managerial, teaching and consultancy roles. She is passionate about driving strategic decision-making, fostering organisational growth and ensuring strong governance in aged care. Jan brings valuable expertise in promoting growth, inclusivity and sustainability, providing significant benefit to the Bedingfeld Park Board. Her qualifications include a Master of Health Science, an Executive Certificate in Health Services Management, registration as a Stomal Therapist and registration as a General Nurse.
Scott Hambley
Scott has been a valued member of the Board of Management since 2004. A qualified Architect, Scott brings extensive experience in the design and construction industry, including the development of aged care facilities. Having successfully managed his own business for more than 30 years, he possesses a strong understanding of the regulatory standards governing building construction. Scott provides the Board with expert advice and practical knowledge on all building-related matters, contributing significantly to the organisation’s strategic direction, planning and development initiatives.
Darrell Phillips-Jones
Darrell has been a member of the Board of Management since 2009. Darrell dedicated his working career to the Western Australia Police Force, serving as the Police Sergeant in Pinjarra for 16 years before retiring. A passionate advocate for the local community, Darrell is also an enthusiastic golfer and the driving force behind the annual Bedingfeld Park Charity Golf Day. Through his leadership and commitment, the event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years, with proceeds supporting our aged care facility and enhancing services for residents.
Victoria Holmes
Victoria has been a member of the Bedingfeld Park Board of Management since 2024. A Registered Nurse with extensive clinical and healthcare leadership experience, she has held a range of managerial roles across Peel Health Campus, Fiona Stanley Hospital, Fremantle Hospital, and St John of God Hospital. Victoria brings to the Board strong expertise in healthcare management, project delivery, strategic planning, and financial oversight. Her broad industry knowledge and practical approach provide valuable insight to the governance and ongoing development of Bedingfeld Park.
